Q: What genres do you play and what others do you have an interest in?
dubstep, bassline, breakbeats, you can usually find a huge mixture in our live sets, genre bending madness.
Q: For those not familiar with your style, how best could you describe it?
A bunch of farts getting into a West Side Story knife fight in your colon . Q: What are your latest accomplishments as a DJ?
The last few years being asked to play countless shows and festivals with insane amounts of talent. Most recently would have to be playing Burningman at Stateside Dubstep Camp in 2009, and the launch of our "real slow the fast way" podcast on lunchboxradio.com. We're blessed.
Q: Any strange requests, odd happenings or just weird things ever happen while you were playing?
At a local burning man party a tweaker offered us $10 to play Journey in the middle of our set. We would of, if we had it. So sad, so sad.
Q: Which method do you prefer to use while playing live (2x4, serato, ableton, cd etc)?
Definitely 2x4 with serato, vinyl preferably.
Q: What's the one track that never leaves your record bag or cd case?
The Others - Bushido
Rusko - Jahova
Skream - In for the kill
Cocoa Tea - 18 and over
Anything by Nit Grit,
actually, classics are always good to keep into rotation.
Q: Are there any projects you’re working on to look forward to in the next year?
We're gonna start out some live mic action, more concentration on production from the both of us and building up our gold front collection.
Q: Who are your favorite Producers and or Dj’s that you listen to, play or have been influenced by and why?
A local favorite of ours is Crisis, dude is on some next level shit. We've been listening to his mixes for years. nick nyquil, tommy 1 tone aka tommy homephone, Mister.Rogers, 4hgt, and satan to name a few.
Q: If you didn’t become a Dj what else do you think you would be doing when you’re not at your day job?
Heavy amounts of snorkeling, POG trading/battling, Air guitarist's/drummer's for a Zappa tribute band. Chilling at the Jersey Shore, That's pretty much it.
Q: You guys made a name for yourselves quickly in the scene as the Bing Bong Twins, what do you think attributed to this?
Quality music, dedication, and practice, it wasn't instantaneous for people to start following dubstep when we started, it happened gradually, now look at it though, people clowing on it are playing it, it's a diverse genre that's getting bigger and bigger everyday.....but we attribute most of it to a stupid name.
Q: Why do you think dubstep is as popular as it is? Is it some kind of burner hippy trend that will disappear in some years or do you think it will stick around?
Hippies definitely love the dubsteak sound, but hipsters, squares, our grandparents, shit, everyone can appreciate a touch of dub, genre's haven't been able to do something along these line in recent history, like artists from hip hop, r&b, indie rock, ect, all cross collaborating with producers. In five years dubstep wont have the image it does now, but it's not going anywhere, the electro curse can find somewhere else to reside.
Q: Any suggestions for other artists or promoters, either up and coming or just in general?
Go full retard. Seriously, go full retard.
Q: Anything you would like to add or get off your chest?
Thank you to Ecsyle, Mantis, all those involved in lunchboxradio.com and NVRaves, and every promoter, fan and even the haters and assholes for helping us showcase our talents and become what we are, it's been a journey and I hope it only gets better with time. Bing Bong to the moon and back!
